Gary Foster | Professional Session/Touring Drummer | 2009 Tama Starclassic Birch/Bubinga kit with a purple sparkle wrap.
"I have many attachments to this kit. I procured it in 2009 when my old band the Sunstreak had signed with EMI. We used the kit in our first music video. This kit has been all over the country with me on various tours. I also use this as my primary session kit for recording. I would say the biggest reason chose this was that it was the kit I was playing the last time my parents both saw me perform on. They have both since passed away. My mom loved the purple sparkle wrap.
I feel so comfortable when I'm playing it. The drums really have a strong personality, and its dynamic." -

Who is your favorite Rochester musician?"I dont quite know how best to answer this next question. There is an abundance of talented people in Rochester. There is also an abundance of Rochestarians across the country doing amazing things. I would first have to say Frank Deblase is at the top of my list. Frank has done so much for the Rochester music scene and beyond. From being a killer front man, radio personality, accomplished writer/author/journalist and let's not forget photographer. I hold him in the highest regard.I would also have to put Bruce and Armond Schaubroeck from the Great House of Guitars right up there too. They have been pillars in the greater Rochester community and the rock and roll world as a whole. They have been incredibly supportive to me since the very early years of my career and are still to this day. The list could go on and on. I admire every one of them."

Why do you love the Rochester music scene?
"I love the Rochester music scene because its everywhere! It's amazing to see how many monsters are out there in the world right now from the 585 just Killing it! The hometown roster is filled with a vast spectrum of hard working musicians that are all playing regularly with admirable fan bases. Everyone knows how to hustle, how to network, and how to help each other out. We also have a great community of music fans that come out to support this great music scene. We are all lucky to be able to do this. I'm so proud to be a part of it.
