Kevin Hart - Majestics | 1966 Fender Stratocaster.
"I purchased it used in 1976 from a now defunct guitar shop in Henrietta, NY called Six String Sales. It was one of those rare instruments that a player picks up and immediately knows, “This is the one.” It has had many repairs and modifications over the last 40+ years I’ve been playing it… most of them done by my friend John Suhr, who also manufactures his own fine instruments." -

Who is your favorite Rochester musician?"Wow, so hard to pick just one, but since I’m a guitarist, I’ll go with my good friend, Joe Chiappone. He’s just an incredible player and one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. He runs a great guitar shop in Pittsford called Northfield Music. Great shop and he didn’t pay me to say this! ha ha"

What is your favorite Rochester music venue?
"Well, presently there are quite a few great venues in town, but Three Heads Brewing is a stand out for me. It’s no secret to anyone who follows Majestics that we’ve kind of made the place our home base in town and the reason is simple… Geoff Dale and everyone at 3HB works so hard to make every gig such a great experience for musicians. I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention the Kodak Hall @ Eastman Theater as a wonderful Rochester venue, since the Majestics clavinet and guitar player, Ron Stackman runs the place. I’ve never played the hall, but have certainly enjoyed a ton of wonderful shows there over the years."

Why do you love the Rochester music scene?
"I’ve been playing in bands in the Rochester area since the early 70’s (yeah, I’m old) and due to many different factors the live music scene has changed quite a bit over that time span. I won’t get in to all of the details about the how and what that have changed over the years, but I will say that for me personally, I’m enjoying playing more than ever with my good friends in Majestics and I’ve made some great life long friendships over the years working in the Rochester music scene."
